Attention Acne Sufferers: Two Beverages That May Sabotage Your Acne Clearing Efforts. Part Two

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

For some people, alcohol is a major contributing factor to acne flares; like coffee, it upsets the equilibrium balance in your body and forces the liver to work “overtime” in ridding itself of toxins. It is not to imply that every person who drinks alcohol will form acne because that is not true for all; every individual is different as some people can drink alcohol everyday and never develop acne. It may seem unfair, but the underlying reason is that we all manifest body imbalances differently, i.e. not every overweight person has high blood pressure, whereas a thin person (who has approximately the same health level as an overweight person) may form high blood pressure.

This advice is solely for people who have acne problems and drink alcohol (though moderation is advised for non-acne sufferers as well). A sound strategy is to take a week away from all forms of liquor to see what changes happen to your skin; a wonderful substitute is green or white tea (decaffeinated and preferably organic). If it is difficult to completely remove it after trying the substitute, then reduce your quantities by at least sixty percent or more, if possible. If you have clear skin, but have had moderate to severe acne in the past, and really love a glass of red wine, it is not problematic to have a glass with your dinner periodically. It is not necessary for current acne sufferers to give up wine (or alcohol) forever, only temporarily, and when you are clear, you may slowly incorporate it back into your lifestyle. The only way to know for sure if alcohol is detrimental to your skin’s health is to test it by removing it temporarily to see what happens. In addition to this information, it may prove to be beneficial to know how to recognize if a person may have dangerous amounts of alcohol in his or her system; these simple tell-tell signs will help you gauge if you should call for help (911), which may save a person’s life in the future. The signs include:

A. Chilly maybe moist, pale, or bluish skin (examine under the eyelids).

B. Faint, fast pulse.

C. Abnormal breathing.

D. The person can not be provoked.

Cheers,

Angela P.

Attention Acne Sufferers: Two Beverages That May Sabotage Your Acne Clearing Efforts. Part One

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

There are two common liquids that many people consume on a regular basis (that I have tested) that aggravate and/or contribute to acne. It is well known that water (non-distilled) is the best substance to drink in order to maintain (or obtain) healthy acne-free skin, but in addition to drinking water, you may be sabotaging your efforts by drinking coffee (including decaffeinated) and alcohol (along with wine). These two substances can either create acne or make it difficult to remove, i.e. think of a dog digging a hole in the ground to bury a bone and a person scooping the dirt back into the hole. Coffee is composed of about a thousand chemicals; these chemicals upset the body’s natural environment, which contributes to acne growth. When I tested the linkage between case study participants whom consumed coffee or alcohol, the results were that those who severely reduced or eliminated them saw faster results in clearing their skin.

This information is not to imply that just removing (or dramatically reducing) all forms of alcohol and coffee will result in a flawless skin complexion; there are other factors to consider as well. However, this change will make it easier and quicker for your skin to heal. If you are a true coffee lover, having a cup once in a while (without any creamers or artificial sugar) with some sugar should not throw your body off its equilibrium. It is the overall consumption that is important. For people who have a difficult time giving up coffee or alcohol, you may substitute with decaffeinated tea. In part two, I will dive closer into why alcohol may hinder your efforts for speedy acne removal.

Sincerely,

Angela P.

Acne, Whiteheads, Blackheads, And Dull Skin—Improve Your Skin Now With This All-Natural 3 Day Crash Course

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Having clear healthy skin is a wonderful essential for many people. This all natural three day crash course will give you a simple, yet effective regime that improves your skin’s clarity, tone, youthfulness, smoothness, and radiance in just three days.

Day One of Your Beauty Crash Course

Facial cleansing routine: Crush a few fresh strawberries (that you’ll be eating for breakfast). Crush the strawberries to a pulp-like texture. Slather this texture on your facial and neck skin. Let it stay in your skin for 10 minutes or more and rinse with lukewarm water.

For breakfast, eat as many fresh strawberries as you desire. An organic variety is most preferred as non-organic versions are high in pesticide residuals. If you can’t find organic (or you’re on a tight budget) then look for a local farmer’s market to buy your strawberries from. Be sure to eat the strawberries alone. It is also critical to wait 2 hours or more before eating other foods for the day. Eating strawberries (alone) helps your skin appear radiant because of the super high dosage of the vitamin C content. The vitamin C in the berries can be absorbed more efficiently by the body if eaten alone than with other foods or fruits. Using strawberries externally will exfoliate and cleanse the skin.

The surplus benefit is it is known that vitamin C can be absorbed in the skin. Since these berries are super high in vitamin C, a high concentration of vitamin C will be absorbed into your skin! Forget about those expensive vitamin C sprays on the market-The vitamin C you’ll have absorbed in your skin will stay in your skin (even after you wash it) for up to four days! And yes, you may use your regular facial skincare products as you desire (after doing the regime).

Day Two of Your Beauty Crash Course

Facial cleansing routine: Mix about 2 teaspoons of lemon juice with warm water and wash your face with the mixture. Do not get any of the lemon juice in your mouth. Rinse with cool water. This routine helps brighten up your complexion.

For breakfast: Eat as many blueberries as you desire for breakfast.

These are best to purchase organic as berries are high in pesticide residuals. You could buy frozen organic blueberries; they are fair in price and can keep for a long time. Wait 2 hours or more before eating anything else for the day. This is optional, but if you desire instant smoother, radiant, and softer skin, this is a very beneficial trick to try: At night, before going to bed, slather honey on your facial and neck skin. Wait about 25 minutes before washing it off with cool water.

Day Three of Your Beauty Crash Course

Facial cleansing routine: Mash a ripe banana. Slather it all over your face and neck. Use circular upward motions to thoroughly rub the banana’s matter in your skin. Let it settle in your skin for three minutes or so and rinse it off with lukewarm water. Make sure not to get any of the banana’s matter inside your mouth.

Breakfast: Eat as many cherries you desire. These are probably cheaper and better to buy frozen (organic is preferred). Eat them alone and wait 2 hours (or more) before eating other foods. Nighttime routine: If you have acne, slice up a tomato. Rub its contents over your face and neck. Rinse after 10 minutes or so.
