Attention Acne Sufferers: Two Beverages That May Sabotage Your Acne Clearing Efforts. Part One
There are two common liquids that many people consume on a regular basis (that I have tested) that aggravate and/or contribute to acne. It is well known that water (non-distilled) is the best substance to drink in order to maintain (or obtain) healthy acne-free skin, but in addition to drinking water, you may be sabotaging your efforts by drinking coffee (including decaffeinated) and alcohol (along with wine). These two substances can either create acne or make it difficult to remove, i.e. think of a dog digging a hole in the ground to bury a bone and a person scooping the dirt back into the hole. Coffee is composed of about a thousand chemicals; these chemicals upset the body’s natural environment, which contributes to acne growth. When I tested the linkage between case study participants whom consumed coffee or alcohol, the results were that those who severely reduced or eliminated them saw faster results in clearing their skin.
This information is not to imply that just removing (or dramatically reducing) all forms of alcohol and coffee will result in a flawless skin complexion; there are other factors to consider as well. However, this change will make it easier and quicker for your skin to heal. If you are a true coffee lover, having a cup once in a while (without any creamers or artificial sugar) with some sugar should not throw your body off its equilibrium. It is the overall consumption that is important. For people who have a difficult time giving up coffee or alcohol, you may substitute with decaffeinated tea. In part two, I will dive closer into why alcohol may hinder your efforts for speedy acne removal.
Sincerely,
Angela P.

Fiorucci,
Great questions!
Yes, decaf is as bad as caffeinated coffee for acne; although the majority of the caffeine has been removed from decaf (there is still a tiny portion of caffeine in decaf), it still contains numerous chemicals that may contribute to imbalances in the body, which can promote acne.
Coffee lovers may try 100 % certified decaffeinated organic coffee, if their skin is clear, but even then, it should not be consumed in massive quantities and not everyday. So, there is a feasible option you may try. If you have acne, it is best to avoid coffee, until your skin is cleared, and then you may incorporate it back into your lifestyle in a slow manner.
As for cellulite, some people grind up old coffee beans and mix with a body lotion (an all-natural lotion would work nicely) and apply to the areas before showering in the morning and evening. It is a good idea to wait at least 25 minutes to 35 minutes for the solution to sit on the skin before washing off. It is also important to drink a lot of water throughout the day to reap the maximum benefit.
It is worth a shot to test as it is cheap and easy to do.
